Meditation for Parents
Mindfulness is an incredible tool to reduce stress and bring more joy to life, particularly in parenting. However, it requires commitment and consistency. In this group, which meets the first Tuesday of the month* at 5:15pm PT, we will consider real-life parenting situations and discuss how to use yogic philosophy as outlined in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, to meet these challenges. Each group lasts about 75 minutes and includes discussion and a guided meditation practice.
The group is offered online. A Zoom link will be sent via email one day prior to our meeting.
Everyone is welcome, no matter the age of their child(ren), or even if they are not raising children of their own (aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends…). Parenting situations are used as examples of how to apply the Sutras to everyday life, and non-parents should still find value. Suggested donation of $10-30 per group (Venmo: @jeanna-lurie). *Our June meeting will be the second Tuesday, June 11 and we will take a summer break in July.
